To All:
Almost every post brings up fundraising: so true. Schools stay afloat and thrive with endowments. The more money on hand, the easier to get grants, etc. NCEA (National Catholic Education Association) has an entire department devoted to helping schools with fundraising. My current employer (Central Catholic High School) has contracted with Sr. Mary Tracey from NCEA for the past two years to get an endowment rolling. I would think that the Catholic high schools BSS feeds into are also interested in our outcomes and also have fundraising departments in their buildings. I know someone in the Holy Cross High School (Flushing) development department (I worked at Cross for 7 years), and I would be willing to contact anyone in the secondary schools for whatever course we take. I can also contact Gabriel, president of the CFT. Please know I am happy to do all of this, but I am in a different time zone and that can skew things. I suggest we contact the Jersey man who posted his offer of help in fundraising. The more ideas, the better, but, also, the more professional the bindings, the better, too. John brings up a good point about the Sr. Mary Patrick scholarship. That is worth investigating. So, send the word about questions to ask, people to contact, and it will get done. Remember, let's pray before the Blessed Sacrament, too. Here is a link to several prayers that can be said before the Blessed Sacrament: www.usccb.org/liturgy/prayerseucharist.shtml
This is a link to the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (above for prayer, below for their education office) www.usccb.org/education/committeepol.shtml
